Photo Gallery: Raquel Ferreira volleyball clinic

Raquel Ferreira, a pro beach volleyball player, conducted a one-day indoor clinic for the Costa Mesa High girls' volleyball program Thursday morning at the Mustangs' gym. Ferreira, an Orange County resident and former Estancia assistant, shared her story about the challenges she faced during her journey to the U.S. from Brazil. Ferreira, the 2009 Assn. of Volleyball Professionals Rookie of the Year, worked on various skills with the Costa Mesa players. She also answered questions and provided photo and autograph opportunities after the two-hour session. Ferreira, a former Concordia University standout, will be competing in the Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Volleyball series in Hermosa Beach this weekend.
