Last month, Juninho of the Los Angeles Galaxy spent a day at the White House to honor the team for winning the Major League Soccer championship.

Juinho was in a different type of house Thursday night and he filled the house with fans waiting to meet him. The Galaxy player visited Macy’s South Coast Plaza men’s store in a meet-and-greet with fans. He signed soccer balls, T-shirts and towels. He posed with fans for photos. Nearby the MLS Cup stood for viewing and picture taking. Most fans wanted to take their picture with the soccer champ.

Juninho appeared willing to make the fans happy. Anything after the White House seems great.

“It was awesome,” Juninho said of the White House visit, through an interpreter. “It was great to meet President Obama. I have never been there. It was really important to be there with the President and shake his hand. It was a very important day.”

Juninho made the day important for several fans.

Mike Rummler brought his wife and three kids traveled from Victorville to Costa Mesa to meet the soccer player. They have been fans of the team and were excited after they won the MLS title.

Rummler had Juninho sign a towel. Rummler then had his family stand with Juninho for a memorable photo.

“It was great,” Rummler said of the photo opportunity. “It’s a rare opportunity … I think my kids will love soccer even more than they do now. They already pretend to be like him.”

Juninho smiled for the camera. He walked in to a loud introduction with music pumping and several fans lined up cheering for him. Earlier, the L.A. Galaxy Futboleros entertained the fans with soccer tricks.

Juninho did his best to keep the fans happy.
