For the second straight year Estancia High was awarded $1,000 from Irrelevant Week for being named as the favorite local high school with each entry for the Mr. Irrelevant contest.

Estancia edged Sage Hill School for the top spot and was presented a check Tuesday.

Spencer Park, a 12-year-old from Redondo Beach, won $1,000 for correctly guessing Cheta Ozougwu as Mr. Irrelevant, the 254th and dead-last pick of the NFL Draft. Spencer tied with two other entrants and won through a coin flip. A record number of contest entries were received, Irrelevant Week organizers said.

Each contest entry included an opportunity for each contestant to name a favorite local high school, with the high school being named the most also receiving $1,000.
