Bradley goes for UCI

Share

Marcus Bradley moved to Corona del Mar High from Beaumont before his senior year to live with his grandparents.

It looks like he will be staying around a bit longer.

Bradley has signed a national letter of intent with the UC Irvine men’s basketball program, said Ryan Schachter, CdM’s coach. Bradley, an athletic 6-foot-6 forward, averaged 20 points and 10 rebounds this past season with the CdM boys’ basketball team.

He led the Sea Kings to a share of the Pacific Coast League title and the quarterfinals of the CIF Southern Section Division III-AA playoffs.

Bradley earned the Daily Pilot Newport-Mesa Dream Team Player of the Year honor, a share of the Pacific Coast League MVP, and All-CIF laurels. He shined in his only season at CdM, first getting the attention of the University of New Hampshire and Montana State.

Since Bradley has decided to go to UCI, Jim and Joan Hauke will not have to drive far to see their grandson continue his basketball career.
