CdM finished behind Point Loma, as the Pacific Coast Interscholastic Sailing Assn. advanced the top three teams to nationals.

“The breeze was perfect for the team racing at 8 knots,” CdM Coach Nate Dunham said in an email. “Ultimately the best team racing teams rose to the top by proving to have a balanced attack with great form, boat handling, and overall team racing knowledge.”

The CdM team featured Connor Kelter, Jimmy Madigan, Alex Ivory, Caitlyn Johnson, Chloe Dapp, Ainsley Henderson, Clare Dahl, Jack Thompson and Christophe Killian.

CdM and Newport Harbor qualified for the High School Dinghy National Championships April 21.

CdM finished third at the Pacific Coast Championships at Cabrillo Beach Yacht Club in San Pedro.

CdM edged Newport Harbor, which finished fourth and also qualified to compete for the Mallory Trophy May 11-12 in Chicago.
