IRVINE — Parker Brown had 12 kills to help the Sea Kings to a 25-13, 25-15, 25-16 victory that clinched at least a share of the Pacific Coast League title Friday.

Patrick Pearson and Remy Lamons had seven kills each, Evan Dean and Spencer Haly had six kills each, Keegan Jakosky had four digs and Nick Curci had 23 assists for CdM (22-4, 8-0 in league), ranked No. 1 in the CIF Southern Section Division II coaches’ poll.

The Sea Kings play at University Monday, trying to clinch an outright league title.

Sage Hill def. Brethren Christian

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Cole Kirby (two aces) and Chris Zadra had 14 kills each to help the Lightning to a 25-23, 25-19, 25-20 Academy League win Friday at Liberty Christian’s gym.

The match was scheduled to be played at Sage Hill, but the Lightning’s gym is closed for repair, Sage Coach Dan Thomassen said. The Sage Hill gym will be closed for two months because of a water main break, Thomassen said.

Kent Kawaguchi had 36 assists, four kills and two aces for the Lightning (9-14, 6-2 in league), who remain first in league. They play at rival St. Margaret’s Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. in a key league match as the Tartans are 5-2 in league.

BASEBALL

Corona del Mar 10, Woodbridge 8

CORONA DEL MAR — Andrew McCormack was three for three with three runs batted in for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League game Friday.

Brent Lawson went three for four, as part of CdM’s 11-hit attack. The Sea Kings (12-8, 6-5 in league) took sole possession of third place after breaking away from a 5-5 tie with one run in the fourth inning and four more runs in the fifth.

Brian Ford was one for three with two RBIs, while Will Morrow hit a two-run homer.

Josh Harrison, who went one for three with an RBI, earned the win after pitching 3 2/3 innings. Michael Salaam picked up the save after pitching 1 1/3.

CdM plays at University Tuesday at 3:15 p.m.

Estancia 13, Saddleback 2

COSTA MESA — Steven Macias went three for four with two triples and two runs scored for the Eagles in the Orange Coast League game Friday.

Brodie Pearce went two for three, Alex Trancoso went two for three with three runs and Sho Watanabe went two for four, as part of the Eagles’ 13-hit attack.

Tyler De la Pena (4-3) struck out four in his second complete game of the season for Estancia (12-10, 6-5 in league).
