NEWPORT BEACH — Mason Moody’s eagle on No. 8 highlighted the Sailors’ Sunset League win Thursday at Big Canyon Country Club.

Moody, who shot one-over-par 37, holed out from 195 yards out on the par-four hole.

Landon Knight (38), Brandon Willett (41), Thomas Terry (43) and Brad Tapfer (44) also scored for Newport Harbor (12-4, 6-2 in league).

Fountain Valley’s Andre Vu (35) was the medalist.

Newport Harbor next competes in the Estancia tournament Monday at Mesa Verde Country Club.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Kevin Rakestraw had 11 kills to help lead the Sailors to a 25-18, 25-20, 25-23 Sunset League win Thursday.

Peirce Ward added seven kills and Steven Duhoux had 26 assists for Newport Harbor (15-5, 6-1 in league).

The Sailors compete in the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions Friday and Saturday.

CORONA DEL MAR — Senior Alec Adamson swept in singles for the Sea Kings in Thursday’s Pacific Coast League match at home.

Bjorn Hoffmann and Pedro Fernandez also swept for CdM (14-2, 5-2 in league). Fernandez won all 18 of his games.

Ryan Andrews and Samee Aboubakare swept in doubles for CdM, ranked No. 2 in CIF Southern Section Division 1. The Sea Kings play host to Northwood on Friday.
