CORONA DEL MAR — Evan Dean had 13 kills to help the Sea Kings to a 25-21, 25-9, 25-17 Pacific Coast League win Tuesday.

Spencer Haly and Joe Ctvrtlik had seven kills each, while Nick Curci had 25 assists for CdM (14-2, 3-0 in league), ranked No. 1 in the CIF Southern Section Division II coaches’ poll.

CdM plays at Beckman, ranked No. 7 in Division II, Thursday at 5:15 p.m.

LAGUNA BEACH — Kyle Treiger had eight kills for the Eagles in the Orange Coast League match that the Breakers won, 25-13, 25-21, 25-17, Tuesday.

Joey Minter had six digs for Estancia (0-10, 0-3 in league).

Ocean View def. Sage Hill

NEWPORT COAST — Junior outside hitter Chris Zadra finished with nine kills and eight digs in a nonleague match that Ocean View won, 25-16, 25-23, 25-11, on Tuesday.

Kent Kawaguchi had 16 assists and two services aces for the Lightning (5-12).

Sage Hill plays host to Crean Luthern on Friday at 5 p.m.

Estancia 187, Lakewood 209

COSTA MESA — Jake Knapp and Courtland Lee both shot even-par 35 to share medalist honors for the Eagles in the nonleague match at Costa Mesa Country Club’s Mesa Linda course Tuesday.

Jake Stone (38), Bill Crosson (38) and Aaron Wood (41) also scored for Estancia (12-0).

FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Zach Eddy was the medalist after shooting even-par 36 for the Sailors in the Sunset League match at Mile Square Golf Club Tuesday.

Carter Norris (38), Brad Tapfer (39), Mason Moody (40) and Marcus Kiel (40) also scored for Newport Harbor (9-6, 3-1 in league).

TUSTIN — The Sea Kings’ Mike Moorhead shot three-under-par 33 to earn medalist honors after playing Tustin Ranch Golf Course’s back nine for the first time in the Pacific Coast League match Tuesday.

Brian Mull (36), John Davenport (37), Chase Wheatley (38) and Karick Brown (42) also scored for CdM (14-1, 6-0 in league).

IRVINE — Ahmed Eltamami and Kam Fujii both shot six-over-par 42 for the Lightning in the Academy League match at Strawberry Farms Golf Course Tuesday.

Matt Marlin (43) and Patrick Brady (44) also scored for Sage Hill (5-1, 5-0 in league).

Sagar Shah of Whitney was the medalist with a 38.

Northwood 3, Corona del Mar 2

IRVINE — With one out and the bases loaded, Ojo Weiss drove in Danny Mallek and Ben Libben in the bottom of the seventh to lift the Timberwolves past the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League game Tuesday.

Will Morrow was two for three and Aaron White was one for one with a run batted in for CdM (9-4, 4-2 in league). Sea Kings’ pitcher Andrew McCormick struck out nine in his complete game.

The teams will meet again Friday at 3:15 p.m. at CdM.

GIRLS’ LACROSSE

Newport Harbor 12, Esperanza 3

NEWPORT BEACH — Madeline Storch and Amanda Olevsky scored three goals each for the Sailors in the Sunset/Century League game Tuesday.

Sierra Michaelsen (two assists) and Stephanie Storch scored two goals each for Newport Harbor (5-5, 2-0 in league). Sydney Dexter and Lexi McCardle had one goal each, while goalie Cailynn Smethurst recorded six saves for the Sailors.

Sage Hill 11, Laguna Beach 7

LAGUNA BEACH — Alex Manolakas and Kevin Marshack swept at No. 1 doubles for the Lightning in the nonleague match Tuesday.

Robbe Simon (No. 1) and Andrew Kurzweil (No. 2) won two of three sets in singles for Sage Hill (9-5), ranked No. 3 in the CIF Southern Section Division III coaches’ poll.

Corona del Mar 17, Beckman 1

IRVINE — Alex Murray and Daniel Anastos both won two sets in singles before being substituted out for the Sea Kings in the Pacific Coast League match Tuesday.

In doubles, freshman Carson Williams teamed up with Zach Williams for a sweep, 6-2, 6-0, 6-0, for CdM (17-1, 4-1 in league), ranked No. 2 in the CIF Southern Section Division I coaches’ poll.

The Sea Kings play at Woodbridge, ranked No. 5 in Division I, today at 3 p.m.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Craig McKennon and Greg Brostek won two out of three at No. 1 doubles for the Sailors in the Sunset League match Tuesday.

Troy Arnold and Matthew Searcy won one set at No. 2 doubles for Newport Harbor (5-8, 1-3 in league).

SOFTBALL

Marina 9, Newport Harbor 1

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Junior Mandy LeGault had two of the Sailors’ three hits in their Sunset League opener Tuesday at Marina.

Coach Tony Qualin said sophomore Hattie Marshall pitched in her fourth game in four days because the team’s other pitcher, Savannah Caviston, was ill.

Newport Harbor is now 13-5.

GIRLS’ SWIMMING

Corona del Mar 132, Long Beach Wilson 38

CORONA DEL MAR — Junior Pippa Saunders and freshman Ellen Naruse each won two events for the Sea Kings in the non-league dual meet Tuesday at CdM.

Saunders won the 200-yard individual medley in 2 minutes, 19.87 seconds, as well as the 100 breaststroke in 1:14.61. Naruse claimed the 200 freestyle in 2:00.78 and the 100 back in 1:01.29.

Tori Gabert (50 free, 27.08), Brynne Wong (100 fly, 1:01.51), Ally McCormick (100 free, 54.73) and Natalie Wong (500 free, 5:20.17) also won events for CdM, which also won all three relays.

BOYS’ SWIMMING

Corona del Mar 117, Long Beach Wilson 53

CORONA DEL MAR — Six different Sea Kings won events in the non-league dual meet Tuesday at CdM.

John Kim won the 200-yard freeestyle in 1 minute, 47.02 seconds, while Jared Namba claimed the 200 IM in 1:58.90. Matt Berry won the 50 free (22.01 secoonds), Nick Treadaway won the 100 butterfly (57.13) and Ari Marks took the 100 free (48.87).

Christian Garkani won the 100 back in 55.14 for CdM, which also won all three relays. CdM plays host to Woodbridge today in a Pacific Coast League meet.
