HUNTINGTON BEACH — Reese Stalder and Christian Lee swept at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively, to pace the visiting Tars (9-4, 3-1 in league) in Sunset League play Monday.

COSTA MESA — Costa Mesa High junior Kellie Thorsness finished second in the girls’ 50-yard freestyle in 24.96 seconds, a school record, on Saturday at Costa Mesa High.

Senior James Lewis was second in the boys’ 200 free and 500 free to pace the Mustangs.

Lewis’ time in the 200 was 1 minute, 53.36 seconds. He went 5:12.11 in the 500.

Tyler Connors was third in the boys’ 100 backstroke (58.28) and fourth in the 100 butterfly (1:00.25).

Both Mesa teams were third in the 10-team event.
