The TH Hoops fifth-grade All-Net basketball team, from Newport Beach, won the NJB All-Net Sectionals Tournament for the boys’ Silver Division recently.

The team went undefeated in the four games played against some very competitive teams from Southern California.

The championship game was a battle the entire time while TH Hoops trailed the Anaheim Hills Comanches through the third quarter. The fourth quarter changed momentum and with some excellent defense, timely steals and key shots TH was able to walk away with the 49-43 victory.

Day One of the tournament included a 48-32 win against the El Toro Chargers followed by a 42-19 victory against the San Gabriel Valley Black.

The second day of the tournament started with a 62-44 win against the Victorville Blue Devils. Tied at the end of the third quarter the TH Hoops boys outscored their opponent by 18 points in the fourth quarter.

That set them up to play for the championship against the Comanches.

The team played team basketball throughout the entire tournament and were able to execute their game plan and their aggressiveness on the court.

The team members include: Chase Hall, Cole McCunniff, Collin Abe, Timmy Bahadoor, Kieran Sidebotham, Caleb Cowles, Austin Chandler and Jack Whelan.
