NEWPORT BEACH — Chase Wheatley two-under-par 33 to earn medalist honors for the Sea Kings in the nonleague match at Newport Beach Country Club Tuesday.

Karick Brown (36), John Hong (37), Bryan Hong (39) and Walter Frome (40) also scored for CdM (4-0), which is 42-0 dating back to midseason of 2011.

The Sea Kings face Edison at SeaCliff Country Club in Huntington Beach on Wednesday.

LAGUNA NIGUEL – Thomas Terry shot even-par 36 for the Sailors in the nonleague match at El Niguel Country Club Tuesday.

Tanner Podres of Dana Hills shot 35 to earn medalist honors.

COSTA MESA — The Eagles No. 1 doubles team of senior Erik Cerros and sophomore Sterling Gates swept, 6-0, 6-2, 6-0, in the nonleague match Tuesday.

Three seniors swept in singles for Estancia (5-1), including No. 1 Robert Marrone (6-2, 6-0, 6-4), No. 2 Matt Thomas (6-2-6-0, 6-4) and No. 3 Joseph Kidane (6-2, 6-2, 6-4). The Eagles’ No. 2 doubles team of sophomores David Doran and Charlie Griffin (6-0, 6-2, 6-3).

Estancia plays host to Oxford Academy on Wednesday.

CORONA DEL MAR — Senior Alec Adamson paced the Sea Kings with three wins in singles in the nonleague match Tuesday.

Sophomore Ryan Andrews earned two singles victories, and Pedro Fernandez teamed up with Tyler Gaede and won two sets for CdM (3-0), which plays at Palos Verdes Wednesday.

NEWPORT BEACH — Sean Perrier and Garrett Byers swept at No. 1 doubles for the Sailors in Tuesday’s nonleague match at Newport Harbor High.

Reese Stalder won two of three singles sets for Newport Harbor (4-3), which plays at Laguna Beach on Thursday.

Mater Dei 13, Sage Hill 5

SANTA ANA — Junior Eric Magliarditi and freshman Kenan Torlic swept at No. 1 doubles for the Lightning in their nonleague opener Tuesday at Mater Dei High.

Host Mater Dei won eight of nine singles sets against the Lightning, who are playing without seniors Ryan Lee (school committment) and Sam Sherman (knee). Coach A.G. Longoria said both should players should rejoin the team in two weeks.

Sage Hill plays against Woodbridge on Friday.

NEWPORT COAST — Connor Bock and Brett Dunlavey had two hits and two runs batted in for the Lightning in the nonleague game Tuesday.

David Harris also had two hits for Sage Hill.

COSTA MESA — Senior starter Ben Beck allowed two hits and no walks in six shutout innings for the Eagles in the Costa Mesa Division pool-play game of the Newport Elks Tournament Monday.

The Eagles (3-0) will play host to La Puenta Nogales Wednesday at 3 p.m. in a semifinal game.

Tyler Rios earned the save with one scoreless inning in which he allowed no hits.

Johnathan Ball went two for two with a double and two runs for Estancia.

Newport Harbor, 6, Mater Dei 5

SANTA ANA — Kole Escher scored two goals for the Sailors in the nonleague match Tuesday.

Alex Fuller, Ritter Hagadorn (one assist), Brian Team and Riley Peterson (one assist) had one goal each for Newport Harbor (1-3).

Christian Ruelas made 13 saves.

IRVINE — Senior Casey Mix had six goals and two assists for the Sea Kings in their season opener Monday.

Seniors Jack Ortlieb (four goals, three assists), Todd Kitzens (two goals) and Brett Nelson (one goal), and sophomores Max Kline (one goal, one assist), Chad Redfearn (one goal), Andrew Schmidt (one goal) and Niño Cavez (one goal, one assist) also contributed for CdM.

FOUNTAIN VALLEY — Rachelle Reynolds had two triples and reached base five times for the Eagles in Tuesday’s nonleague game

Reynolds also walked twice and was hit by a pitch. Tish Ortega had a triple and two walks, while Stephanie Enriquez (one triple) and Chloe Davis (a double and a triple) both went three for five.

Estancia is now 3-1.

COSTA MESA — The Tillers won the nonleague match, 25-18, 25-19, 25-23, Tuesday.

Joey Mittner had seven kills and Jeremy Lawrence had five kills for Estancia (0-3), which lost to Pacifica on Monday, 25-15, 25-17, 25-20. Mittner had seven kills against Pacifica.
