Fight Club begins

Fight Club OC makes its debut tonight at the OC Fair & Events Center.

Seven professional boxing and mixed martial arts bouts are scheduled on the card, with the first fight expected to start at 7:45 p.m.

The main event of the evening is a junior welterweight boxing bout between Hector Serrano (13-1, five knockouts) and Aris Ambris (14-1, eight knockouts). The lone loss both fighters have suffered have come against lefty Jose Reynoso last year. The 140-pounders are looking to avoid their second setback.

In the cruiserweight boxing division, Dallas’ Brent Urban (6-3, four knockouts) fights Los Angeles’ Joseph Jones (4-3, two knockouts) in a four-round bout.

Last March, Urban knocked out then undefeated former Olympian Emad Ali in the first round.

The event has two MMA matches.

Huntington Beach’s Carlos Garces (5-4) faces Isaac Gutierrez (4-3). Irvine’s Luis Salgado (1-0) fights Miami’s Ozzie Alvarez (1-1).

The other three boxing matches feature Quadtrine Hill, a former University of Miami running back, against Arizona’s Chad Davis in a heavyweight bout.

Hill, a lefty, has won his last two fights.

Oscar Andrade goes into his fight against Manuel Delcid of Los Angeles with a 4-0 record. Andrade won a fight against Ramon Valadez on a Golden Boy show at Club Nokia in Los Angeles last summer.

Los Angeles’ Danny Roman (1-0) goes up against Jensen Ramirez (0-1) in the bantamweight division.
