CIF girls’ water polo championship schedule set

The CIF Southern Section Division 1 girls’ water polo championship game featuring Back Bay rivals Corona del Mar High and Newport Harbor is scheduled for Saturday at 6:30 p.m. at Woollett Aquatics Center in Irvine.

The No. 3-seeded Sea Kings (26-4) and No. 4 Sailors (24-6) have met four times this season, each team winning twice. The title game is a rematch of last year’s final that Newport Harbor won.

Ticket prices are $8 for general admission and $5 for high school students (with school identification) and children age 13 and under for each session. There are three sessions. The Division 1 title game is in the final session that begins at 5 p.m. with the Division 5 matchup of Crescenta Valley against Riverside Poly.

Doors open a half hour prior to the first game of each session and general admission seating is on a first-come basis.
