Share

Chris Klein, a former member of the U.S. national men’s soccer team and a 12-year professional Major League Soccer player, spoke at an assembly at Mariners Christian School in Costa Mesa Friday morning.

The Mariners Christian kids received a treat, as Klein delivered a message as part of the school’s chapel theme, “Going the Extra Mile.” Klein, who played for the Washington Wizards, Real Salt Lake and Los Angeles Galaxy, spoke on his devotion to soccer and his faith that helped him throughout his career.

Klein also knows about going the extra mile. He set an MLS record in 2008, when he made 118 consecutive starts.
