CoCo Goodson, a former UC Irvine women’s soccer player, was drafted once again on Thursday as the National Women’s Soccer League held its inaugural draft. Goodson went in the third round of the supplemental draft to Sky Blue FC and was the first of two Big West Conference players drafted.

Goodson, a year removed from UC Irvine, was drafted following the 2011 season going 12th overall to the Philadelphia Independence in what was the Women’s Professional Soccer league. The league fell apart before the season could commence, and Goodson would catch on with Dutch club FC Twente joining ‘Eater alum Danielle de Seriere.

Goodson has one goal so far this season as the starting center back for the team, which is currently 12-0-3 competing in the BeNe League which runs through May.
