Nick Dawson had 12 points, three assists and three steals for Costa Mesa (11-5, 1-0 in league), which plays at Saddleback Friday at 7 p.m.

LAGUNA BEACH — Chad Fackler had 16 points and three rebounds for the Eagles in their Orange Coast League opener Tuesday.

Fackler was four for four from three-point range. Rashad Davis had 11 points and 15 rebounds for Estancia (9-9).

Marina 53, Newport Harbor 21

HUNTINGTON BEACH — Senior Alex Maher, a 138-pounder, recorded a pin in 50 seconds as one of the highlights for the Sailors in the Sunset League dual Wednesday.

Senior Jason Aviles won by pin in 3:16 in the heavyweight class. Junior David Wadleigh III won by pin in 3:43 in the 126-pound division. Junior Alberto Ramirez won, 12-10, at 132 pounds.

Estancia 2, Laguna Beach 2

LAGUNA BEACH — Sean Bjelland scored in the final minute to help the Eagles tie in their Orange Coast League opener Wednesday.

Vicente Lopez had two assists and Chris Gomez scored a goal for Estancia (6-3-2, 0-0-1 in league), which plays host to Godinez Friday at 4:45 p.m.

Newport Harbor 19, Huntington Beach 5

NEWPORT BEACH — Senior Maddy McLaren had five goals for the Sailors in the Sunset League game Wednesday night at Newport Harbor High.

Carly Christian scored three goals for Newport Harbor (8-3, 2-0 in league) while Elissia Schilling, Avery Peterson, Carolyn Smith and Paisley Muller added two goals each.

Newport Harbor plays at the Santa Barbara Tournament of Champions this weekend, opening against El Toro at 3:30 p.m. Friday at Dos Pueblos High.

Corona del Mar 19, Woodbridge 3

IRVINE — Cassidy Papa had a game-high six goals in the Pacific Coast League game Tuesday at Woodbridge High.

Diana Murphy added four goals for CdM (9-1, 3-0). Victoria Pierotti, Morgan Stewart and Avery Warwick each scored twice for the Sea Kings, who played without starters Pippa Saunders and Ally McCormick. Both were out sick.

CdM plays at University on Thursday.
