Onlookers watch a waterspout pass over the Gilchrist Bridge in Punta Gorda, Fla. on July 15, 2005. A slow-moving waterspout spawned by thunderstorms roared down the Peace River, coming ashore twice as a tornado in Punta Gorda in southwestern Florida but causing only minor damage. Other twisters were reported in Englewood and in eastern Charlotte County, but the National Weather Service attributed all three to the same waterspout/tornado.
