All talk of a USC dynasty was ended by Vince Young, who lost the Heisman Trophy race to USC all-purpose back Reggie Bush but captured a national championship with a fourth-quarter rally. Texas turned the Trojans' failed fourth-and-1 into Young's fourth-and-5 touchdown run with 19 seconds to play. The loss ended USC's 34-game winnging streak.
