Retail Therapy: ‘Mulan’ onscreen at Movie Mondays

Animated fun: The Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa continues its free outdoor Movie Mondays events with the Disney animated feature “Mulan” this Monday. Contests begin at 7:30 p.m., followed by the the movie at about 8 p.m. Patina Catering will offer an affordable movie-inspired menu, including egg rolls, potstickers and banh mi. Other films include “The Phantom of the Opera” on July 29 and “Evita” on Aug. 5.

Pay tribute: The city of Irvine will host a half-scale replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial from Thursday through Sunday in Woodbridge Community Park, 20 Lake Road. The Wall That Heals, the traveling replica, will be joined by a replica of the Global War on Terror Wall of Remembrance. The memorials will be available for public viewing 24 hours a day. Holding patterns: As Issued, a visual art bookstore and gallery at 2930 Bristol St., Suite A102, Costa Mesa, will host an opening reception for Southern California artist Brandon Spiegel, a designer at Quiksilver, from 7 to 10 p.m. Saturday.
