Mailbag: Too many letters in the Daily Pilot lean to the left

Share

I have given the Daily Pilot the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the selection of opinion pieces. But shame on me for thinking this newspaper, as an affilitate of the Los Angeles Times, might be neutral.

The recent letters implying that Democrats are good for the economy are not based on facts. Our deficit is through the roof. Unemployment is reported as improving, but the fact that these statistics do not include those who have quit looking for work is deceptive.

As a quick example of liberal policies, Baltimore has been run by Democrats for over 40 years, millions of dollars have been allotted by the government for education and infrastructure, and the place is nothing short of a disaster area. To be so narrow-minded as to tout one party as being better than another with such bias is disturbing.

For a newspaper to omit other opinions is much like living in a communist society. That our local television news would rather spend an entire hour on a high-speed chase and not the fact that Hillary Clinton wiped her server clean of information that belongs to the people is disgusting.

Keep the low-information people in the dark and we will all become Baltimore, if the Democrats have their way.

Continue holding school district accountable

Re. “Irvine parents share concerns about pesticide use in schools,” (May 8):

Kudos to Kathleen Hallal of the Irvine PTA for questioning the Irvine Unified School District about its use of pesticides at its schools. Now where are the parents who should be questioning the Irvine district about the fact that Portola High School is being built near the former El Toro Marine base, which is known to have toxic waste?

CdM boys will be boys

Re. “CdM prom cancellation threatened,” (May 8 ):

Sea King boys were all born to be fun and mischievous. Politically correct fraidy cats are blaming the boys, when the boys have done nothing. Sea Kings are smart; they don’t accept blame for being born normal boys. Besides, the girls like them.
