Grand slam: The Irvine Chamber of Commerce has announced several upcoming ribbon-cutting events. The newly remodeled Corner Bakery at 13786 Jamboree Road will celebrate its grand opening at 10:30 a.m. Jan. 14 with free snacks and beverages. Information: cornerbakerycafe.com.

Tension reliever: Massage Heights, 3881 Alton Parkway, Suite A, Irvine, will host a ribbon-cutting and grand opening celebration from 10 a.m. to noon Jan. 17. The morning will include free chair massages, giveaways and opportunity drawings. Sip and share: Back to Natives Restoration will host a Coffee Cupping Fundraiser from 5 to 6 p.m. Jan. 18 at the Green Bliss café in Fullerton, at the Villa del Sol, 305 N. Harbor Blvd., Suite 103. Similar to a wine tasting, the coffee cupping will allow a barista to help attendees discern the differences between various types of coffee. Admission is $15 per person. Surf no turf: Fresh seafood restaurant Slapfish, 19696 Beach Blvd., Huntington Beach, has introduced a resolution-friendly light dining menu that includes salad options, banh mi burrito, hot shrimp roll and grilled fish and chips. Restaurant Week preview: Chef Yvon Goetz of the Winery Restaurant & Wine Bar in Tustin will demonstrate one of the restaurant’s dishes from its upcoming Orange County Restaurant Week menu at 6 p.m. Jan. 21 at the Sub-Zero and Wolf showroom, 151 Kalmus Drive, Suite L-3, Costa Mesa. Enjoy a chat with the chef along with wine and appetizers from Bread Artisan Bakery and Cabot Cheese.
