Rizzo’s home off the market

The Huntington Beach home of Robert Rizzo, the embattled former manager of the city of Bell, is no longer for sale.

The house at 1935 Lake St. dropped from the Multiple Listing Service on Tuesday, according to Torelli Realty in Costa Mesa.

Bill Cuppy, Rizzo’s listing agent, confirmed that the house was withdrawn from the market, but would not say why or whether Rizzo had changed his mind. The house was staged for the sale.

“If the status changes, the Multiple Listing Service will reflect that,” he said.

Dropping from the MLS generally means the owner is no longer interested in selling at this time or at all. Real estate agents use the list to market properties for sale.

Rizzo, who allotted himself one of the highest salaries among public employees in the country, now faces multiple charges of corruption.

The 3,250-square-foot, four-bedroom, three-bathroom and two-half-bathroom home was heavily remodeled by Rizzo, who bought it in 2007 for $1.13 million.

The home, which features custom bookshelves, a coffered formal dining room ceiling and a bath top lined with travertine, granite and marble under chandelier lighting, was listed for $949,000.
