Susan McCreary Baker <br/>August 24, 1937 - April 18, 2014

Susan McCreary Baker, 76, of Newport Beach, CA passed away on Good Friday, April 18, 2014 at Hoag Memorial Hospital in Newport Beach, CA. She was born August 27, 1937 in Beaver Falls, PA, to John C. and Margaret McCreary.

She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Robert (Bob) Baker; three sons, Bob and wife Rochelle, Mike (Milly Burgis), and John (Kerry Holland); daughter Laura and husband Mitch Dixon, and six grandchildren, Megan, Ryan, Jack, Bobby, Cody and Nikki.

Susan was a long time resident of Costa Mesa and Newport Beach where she lived since leaving the Midwest in 1973. She struggled with Parkinson’s over the last ten years, but battled the disease with grace and dignity. She was an avid sports fan, loved to travel to see friends and spend time with her children and grandchildren. There were 21 family members at her bedside at the time “Boo Boo” entered heaven.

Memorial services will be conducted 10:00 AM Saturday, May 10 at St. John Vianney Chapel. Monsignor Baird officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 12:00 PM Sunday at Harbor Lawn Memorial Park in Costa Mesa, CA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the American Diabetes Association.
