Shannon Terese Roys passed suddenly at 41 of a brain aneurism on January 27, 2012 at her home in Aliso Viejo, CA. Shannon was born to Dr. Gilbert and Kayla Roys in Pasadena, CA January 6, 1971. She attended Newport Beach Schools before transferring to Troy High School in Fullerton, where she graduated in 1989. She was a Newport Beach National Charity League Debutante in 1989.

Shannon attended San Jose State and was a member of Alpha Phi Sorority before transferring to Chapman University, where she graduated in 1994 with a degree in Computer Information Systems. Shannon worked at Fluor for 17 years and, at the time of her passing, was the Senior Manager of Human Resources.

Shannon loved the water, which led to her passion for scuba diving. She was a certified open water diver, a Scuba Schools International diver, and an Advanced diver. She belonged to the Laguna Sea Dwellers Dive Club in Laguna Beach and the Scubadillo Dive club in Dallas, Texas, where she lived for four years when transferred by Fluor.

Shannon traveled on dive trips to Fiji, Indonesia, Cozumel, Cancun, Bonaire, Puerto Rico, and Saba. In October, 2011, Shannon traveled to Fiji where she became engaged to Mark Bogart. They were planning their wedding in the Cayman Islands for the summer of 2012.

Shannon was an ardent Los Angeles Angels baseball fan and a season ticket holder for 10 years. She spent a week every year attending spring training in Arizona.

Shannon is survived by her Father, Dr. Gilbert Roys, of Placentia, CA; her mother Kayla Allen and step-father, Tim Allen of Newport Beach, CA; her sister, Trisha Robertson and husband, Kelly Robertson and nephews, Sean and Dylan Robertson of Clifton, VA; her step-brother Jeremy Allen; her uncle, Gerry Pehl (Hope) and cousins, Michael, Mitchell and Matthew Pehl; and, her uncle Stephen Pehl (Lisa) ; her aunt, Sheila Roys and cousins Brian and Kelly Roys; and her fiance, Mark Bogart of Aliso Viejo, CA.

A private memorial service was held at Prego’s Restaurant, in Irvine, CA, where Shannon celebrated every birthday for the past 20 years .
