IN MEMORIUM
Jean Kehlet Rosso

Born August 19,1920
Died April 9, 2012

Jean is survived by her husband Ray Rosso, her children, David, Bob (Kate), and Tina, her grandchildren, Jessica, Ken, Ben, Kate, and Stephen, and three great grandchildren who will be able to remember Jean through the stories and memories her family will share.

Jean was born and raised in Southern California and Lake Tahoe where she spent sparkling summer days at Meeks Bay, a family resort founded by her father, George Kehlet and managed by the Kehlet and Rosso families from 1920 to 1968. She started her college education at USC then moved on to earn her Bachelors degree at UC Berkeley. During World War II she married her sweetheart Naval Air Corps pilot, Ray Rosso who was born in Turin, Italy and became a member of the UC Berkeley football team that won the Rose Bowl game of 1938.

After college and the war, Jean and Ray moved to Costa Mesa then Lido Island and lived there during the years Ray served as football coach and PE instructor at Orange Coast Community College. They loved weekends with their children on the beaches of China Cove and Big Corona. First and foremost a loving and devoted mother, Jean centered her life around her family. But she also pursued several passions of her own including the researching and collecting of antique American dolls about which Jean was an expert.

She inspired her children to embrace the future with hope and courage and a spirit of adventure. She taught them to accept the worth of all peoples. Her loss is deeply mourned. But the memories she gave us will be cherished forever.

The family will have a private service at a later date.
