Richard Ting passed away Monday, September 1, 2014 surrounded by his wife and family. He is survived by his wife of 39 years Patricia, sons Cliff and Roger, daughter Alexis, and grandchildren Karina, Sean, Brandon, Garrett, and Claire.

Richard was born in Northern California on August 9, 1933. He received his Bachelor’s degree while playing football at San Jose State University. He also played football while serving in the Army. He earned his MBA from Golden Gate University in San Francisco. He taught salesmanship at Orange Coast College in the early 1970’s. His passion for retail began at Montgomery Ward and continued while serving as store manager for the May Company at South Coast Plaza in the 1970’s. With an entrepreneurial spirit, he and his wife Pat eventually opened their own store, The Clubhouse, in Irvine and later a second store in Laguna Niguel. They successfully managed both stores for over 15 years selling sports clothes and shoes to the local community before retiring in the 1990’s. He loved to play tennis and in retirement enjoyed traveling and giving back to the community. He was active with CASA, Helping Hands and served on his Homeowner’s Association board. His compassion and dedication will be sorely missed.
