Peter Hayes Devin

Peter Hayes Devin, 55, passed away peacefully in his home on December 30, 2012, after a four year battle with ALS, more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. He was surrounded by love and family as he was welcomed into heaven and the arms of Jesus.
Peter was born on August 22, 1957, in Baltimore, Maryland, and graduated with B.A. in Marketing from Washington State University in 1979, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega Fraternity.
Peter had a passion for relationships, and investing time in family, friends and business. He had a fulfilling 20-year career at Nordstrom, including a role as Director of Stores. He also worked at Polo Ralph Lauren, Outdoor Retailer, TGV Partners, and he developed a unique platform for outdoor industry tradeshows. He taught Business Marketing at Orange Coast College and was an active member of Mariners Church, where he served as an Elder and participated in multiple mission trips. He had a love for the outdoors, especially fly-fishing, hiking, golf, running and biking.
He is survived by his devoted wife Andrea of 33 years; his parents Kern and Joyce; sister Jenny; brother John; son Ryan and wife Julie; daughter Chelsea and husband Rob; granddaughter Elizabeth Jane; and many extended family members whom he loved dearly.
Peter will always be remembered for his love of family, faith and friends, and choosing to live with joy in the face of ALS.
