Donate candy for the Marines

Costa Mesa is accepting Halloween candy donations for the city’s adopted Marine battalion.

The candy will be given out Oct. 30 at Camp Pendleton to families of the 1st Battalion, 5th Marines.

Through Oct. 29, donors can drop off the packaged treats in a collection box within the City Hall lobby, 77 Fair Drive.

City officials are asking that the candy not be homemade but rather commercially produced items typically found at grocery stores.
