Mesa Water District names new president

Share

The Mesa Water District’s board recently chose Shawn Dewane to be its president for the next two years.

Dewane, who ran unopposed for his Mesa Water seat in November, also serves on the Orange County Water District, a seat he maintained against challenger Councilwoman Wendy Leece this fall.

Dewane, who had been vice president, replaces Jim Fisler as president.

“Clean, affordable water is fundamental to our quality of life and key to the economic development of our community,” Dewane said in a prepared statement. “The Mesa Water board is working to increase the local and regional water supply and preserve our water rights, while promoting fiscal responsibility and transparency in government.”
