Vanessa Bryant helps single mothers

Vanessa Bryant, wife of Lakers basketball star Kobe Bryant, made an appearance during an event last week for Working Wardrobes.

The Costa Mesa-based nonprofit helped 12 single mothers from Orange County on Dec. 12 by providing them with professional wardrobes and personal grooming services. The Bryants live in Newport Coast.

Vanessa Bryant, representing her family’s foundation, donated clothes, shoes and handbags from her closet. She spoke and passed on advice to the women during the event, which also featured a fashion show.

Six of the women were from Santa Ana College’s CARE program, which helps single parents. The other six were from Latino Health Access, which serves Orange County Latino communities with public health programs.
