Irvine bank robbed Monday; have you seen this man?

Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who robbed an Irvine bank Monday.

Officials said the man walked into the Union Bank at 5311 University Drive at 11:38 a.m. and handed a note to a teller. The man took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing on foot.

No weapon was seen during the robbery and no one was injured, police said.

The man, who wore a blue baseball cap and a dark gray hoodie, was described as in his 30s, about 5-feet-10-inches tall and weighing about 230 pounds, police said.

Officials have not linked the man to several other robberies in the past two months at banks in Irvine, Costa Mesa and Newport Beach, Irvine police spokeswoman Farrah Emami said.
