Corona del Mar High School teachers showed off their best moves to a full house of spectators Wednesday night at an annual fundraiser for the school’s dance team.

Eighteen educators, including Principal Kathy Scott, teamed with members of the Orchesis dance team for “Dancing with the Teachers” to raise money for the dance program’s annual show in March.

There are 20 girls on the team this year.

“There are a lot of props, costumes and lighting that goes into the show,” said senior Janelle Kaneda. “It’s critical to have these fundraisers.”

Janelle and Scott grooved to pop hits such as “Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift and “Boom Boom Clap” by Charli XCX.

“She’s a super sweet person,” said Janelle, 17. “I always see her as a leader, but it was great to see her more lighthearted, energetic side.”
