BMW Gallery rolls into South Coast Plaza with video art and Macy Gray

The ultimate driving experience is now in gallery form.

Orange County BMW dealerships Tuesday night announced the opening of the BMW Gallery at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. The attraction, which continues through March 1, features a series of BMW vehicles including the i8, a plug-in gas-electric hybrid sports car touting low fuel consumption and carbon emissions.

The space has partnered with the Orange County Museum of Art to feature video works from artists including Jeremy Blake, Nam June Paik and Mungo Thomson.

To celebrate the gallery’s opening, guests sipped champagne, munched hors d’oeuvres and listened to a performance by Grammy winner Macy Gray.

The gallery is on the first level of the mall between Jewel and Carousel courts. South Coast Plaza is at 3333 Bristol St.
