Biz News: Ex-assemblyman joins Costa Mesa law office

Southern California law firm Theodora Oringher has added Rod Pacheco as a senior attorney for its Costa Mesa and Los Angeles offices, leading the white collar/investigations practice division.

Pacheco is a former state assemblyman and Riverside County district attorney. During his career as a litigator, he has tried more than 100 cases to a verdict and has not lost a trial since 1986, according to a news release.

Costa Mesa-based law firm Rutan & Tucker will be honored as outstanding midsize corporation or business and the Newport Beach-based Building Block Foundation Fund will be named outstanding philanthropic group at the National Philanthropy Day Awards luncheon Thursday at Hotel Irvine.

More than 900 people are expected to attend the event from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. to honor several philanthropic individuals and organizations in Orange County.

Weight-loss program expands client base

Costa Mesa-based Lindora, the nation’s largest medical weight-loss program, has joined forces with HealthCheck360°, a provider of employee wellness programs. Lindora’s online program is now available to more than 100,000 workers via HealthCheck360°’s network of clients, according to a news release.
