Fundraiser to benefit Costa Mesa schools

Share

The Costa Mesa High School Foundation and We Olive & Wine Bar will celebrate the city’s 60th anniversary at a fundraiser Saturday.

The Going Green event, from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m. at The OC Mix in the SoCo Collection retail center at 3303 Hyland Ave., will feature wine tasting and appetizers from local restaurants. Proceeds will benefit programs at Costa Mesa High and Middle schools, said Debra Wanbaugh, event chairwoman and financial secretary for the foundation.

“Being involved in our community is pivotal,” she said. “These fundraisers are a great resource to bring the community together to assist our schools.”

Tickets are $35 per person. The foundation hopes to raise $30,000 during this year’s event.

The foundation was formed in 2003 to fund programs for the high and middle schools. In the past, the foundation has funded math, science and arts programs, PSAT testing for eighth-, 10th- and 11th-graders, and leadership camps for student government members.
