The Costa Mesa Senior Center will be closed for two weeks while undergoing $200,000 worth of renovations, city officials said in a news release Friday.

The center, at 695 W. 19th St., will be closed from Nov. 22 to Dec. 7. Renovation work will include interior paint, carpeting, flooring and a new front door entry and reception center, officials said.

In addition, the lobby and library will get new furniture, and the restroom and sunroom will be upgraded.

“This will help give Costa Mesa the first-class senior center it deserves,” program administrator Eloisa Espinoza said in a prepared statement. “In addition to the renovation, we are expanding the offering of programs at the senior center to match the interests and meet the expectations of our seniors.”

During the closure, seniors can receive services and lunches at the Neighborhood Community Center, 1845 Park Ave. The city will provide shuttle service from the senior center to the community center.

The two-week closure will not affect home meal delivery, officials said.

The Senior Health Fair and Expo was rescheduled to Feb. 18.
