Gov. Brown, O.C. water district president meet on drought, ballot measures

Gov. Jerry Brown met with Orange County Water District President Shawn Dewane — who is also a director of the Mesa Water District — along with several California elected officials to discuss the drought and Propositions 1 and 2 on the November ballot.

Dewane is running for reelection to the OCWD against Councilwoman Wendy Leece on Nov. 4.

Proposition 1 is a $7.5 billion measure that states it would increase water supply reliability, quality, and infrastructure improvements throughout California, including water recycling, conservation, storage, groundwater cleanup, and sustainability.

The press conference in Fountain Valley concluded with a toast of water produced by OCWD’s Groundwater Replenishment System.
