Police: Man arrested for indecent exposure at OCC

Share

An Irvine man was arrested Thursday night for indecent exposure involving female students at Orange Coast College, according to Costa Mesa police.

Patrick B. Balahan, 20, was first detained by OCC security staff. About a half hour before, an 18-year-old female student reported that she’d been approached by a man outside her car in a parking lot off of Merrimac Way.

The man said he was conducting a survey and asked the woman sexually explicit questions before exposing his genitals, police said.

When police arrived, they questioned Balahan, who said he was an OCC student. He admitted talking to the woman earlier that evening but denied exposing himself, police said.

A safety alert was sent out earlier Thursday by campus officials after several women reported that a man had tricked them into looking at an explicit photo of himself. Police said those reports matched Balahan’s general description.

Balahan was booked at the Costa Mesa Police Department. No further details were released.
