Costa Mesa firefighters rescued a construction worker who was stuck 40 feet high on scaffolding at the OC Fair & Events Center Wednesday morning, according to authorities.

Paramedics were called in around 9:15 a.m. after the man suffered a medical emergency while he was at a construction project near the Pacific Amphitheatre, according to Battalion Chief Kevin Diamond.

Crews lowered the man down from the scaffolding by using a rope system attached to a basket, Diamond said.
