Deans to square off over same-sex marriage

Two local law school deans will battle over recent Supreme Court rulings on same-sex marriage in celebration of Constitution Day at Orange Coast College on Thursday.

Erwin Chemerinsky, founding dean of UC Irvine Law School, will return to OCC for the fourth year to debate John Eastman, the former dean of Chapman University Law School and visiting scholar at the University of San Diego.

The pair debated the Affordable Care Act during last year’s Constitution Day.

The event is free and runs from 11:10 a.m. to 12:35 p.m. in the Robert B. Moore Theatre, 2701 Fairview Road, Costa Mesa.
