Seven people, including three pedestrians, were taken to the hospital after a rollover crash in Costa Mesa on Saturday morning.

Two SUVs collided around 11:30 a.m. when a Ford Explorer turned left on Fairview Road into an Orange Coast College parking lot just south of Adams Avenue.

The Explorer collided with a Cadillac Escalade that was traveling south on Fairview Road, Costa Mesa police Sgt. Bryan Wadkins said.

The impact caused the Explorer to roll over onto a sidewalk corner, where a mother and two young children were standing, according to Wadkins.

Authorities said they took the mom, kids and four occupants of the SUVs to local hospitals with moderate injuries.

Wadkins said the worst of the injuries seemed to be a fractured leg and bruises to the head.

Police are still investigating who was at fault in the crash, but Wadkins said alcohol or other impairment didn’t appear to be a factor.
