Police this week arrested two men and a woman who they say operated brothels at apartments in Irvine and Los Angeles.

The arrests were the culmination of a yearlong investigation by detectives, the Irvine Police Department said in a news release.

On Thursday, police served arrest warrants in Newport Beach on Miyon Kim, 36, and in Los Angeles on Jin Woo Park, 41, and Heung Soon Kim, 56.

They were to be booked into Orange County Jail on charges of pimping, pandering and human trafficking, police said, adding that bail

has not been set.

The three suspects rented apartments in Irvine and Los Angeles, where they ran “an organized prostitution operation,” according to the release.

The investigation began in 2013, when detectives got a tip that an apartment in the 2000 block of Alton Parkway in Irvine was being used for prostitution.

Eventually, they discovered that multiple apartments were being used as brothels, police said.

The FBI and Orange County district attorney’s office assisted Irvine police.

The women working in the brothels were “referred for appropriate care and services” by the district attorney’s human trafficking task force, according to the release.
