Foundation takes to Chicago for dizzying fundraiser

Share

The Festival of Children Foundation will be heading to the Chicago area this weekend for an unsual fundraising event.

While on the Eden Palais, a European salon carousel built in 1890, participants in Saturday’s third annual Carousel of Possible Dreams event will be using their cellphones to contact donors.

The catch? They cannot get off until reaching their fundraising goals.

The event, organized by the Costa Mesa-based nonprofit foundation, this year will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana, the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital of Memphis, Tenn., and the Illinois-based Little Angels Center for Exceptional Care.

The Carousel of Possible Dreams takes place at the Sanfilippo Estate in Barrington Hills, a Chicago suburb. Last year, the event raised more than $150,000 for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland & Northwest Indiana and St. Jude. More than 180 people attended.
