Benefit postponed for man with cerebral palsy

A fundraiser planned for Saturday to benefit Bobby Landfair of Costa Mesa has been postponed.

Yvette and Steve Dobbie had planned the event for Mariner’s Park in Newport Beach in an effort to raise money for the wheelchair-bound man they befriended and have been helping to get a more stable life.

Landfair, 49, has cerebral palsy and lives in motels when he can afford it and the streets of Costa Mesa when he can’t. He has trouble speaking and primarily uses a white board or texts to communicate. Yvette Dobbie met Landfair on Newport Boulevard and since worked with her husband to get his Social Security benefits sorted out along with other basic needs.
