Fitness junkies “planked” for charity at an event Wednesday evening hosted by Lululemon Newport Beach, at Fashion Island.

Plankers had a chance to win a $500 donation to his or her selected charity, as well as a new Lululemon workout outfit. The person who could hold the difficult plank pose the longest won the clothing, while the Lululemon “fitness ambassador” who brought the most guests won the donation.

Matt Bourne, co-founder of Costa Mesa’s GRIT Cycle and one of those fitness ambassadors, said in a news release that he had hoped to gather as many of his students as possible.
