A Corona del Mar High School alumnus was awarded a Fulbright U.S. Student Program scholarship to do research in Japan beginning this fall.

Daniel Ward, who recently graduated from Cornell University after graduating from CdM in 2009, will study optimal care environments for the elderly, Ward wrote in an email.

According to a news release, the Fulbright program is “the flagship international educational exchange program sponsored by the U.S. government and is designed to increase mutual understanding” between residents of the U.S. and those of other countries.
