Newport Beach police arrested two motorists in separate cases this week for allegedly driving drunk while they had teenagers in the car.

Both arrests happened within a half an hour of each other late Monday and early Tuesday, Newport Beach police spokeswoman Jennifer Manzella said.

In the first incident, police responded to a report of a crash around 11:40 p.m. and found a disabled white Audi on Vista Del Sol in the Eastbluff neighborhood, Manzella said.

Officers arrested Alexzandria Strole, 21, of Newport Beach on suspicion of driving under the influence and child endangerment. She had with her a 16-year-old relative, police said.

Soon after, police pulled over a car near Old Newport Boulevard and Coast Highway and found another intoxicated driver with a child, Manzella said.

Officers arrested Pedro David Gonzalez-Barbosa also on suspicion of driving under the influence and child endangerment.

The 17-year-old with Gonzalez-Barbosa also appeared to be drunk, prompting an additional accusation against the driver of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Police also detained the boy on suspicion of a curfew violation and public intoxication.

He did not appear to be related to Gonzalez-Barbosa, 20, of Buena Park, Manzella said.

Both drivers were held on $100,000 bail. Strole is now free on bond, according to jail records.
