Newport Beach Mayor Pro Tem Diane Dixon and city staff will present a review of the Fourth of July weekend festivities on the Balboa Peninsula during a town hall meeting Monday.

Arrests on Independence Day dropped 20% in Newport Beach compared with last year, according to police statistics. For years, law enforcement has been trying to calm activity on the peninsula during the holiday.

Dixon has held a series of town hall discussions with residents over the past several months to discuss public safety, traffic, boardwalk safety and other issues on the peninsula.
