OCC expanding classes for the fall

Share

Orange Coast College students registering for fall courses will have more classes to choose from than in previous years, according to a news release issued by the college Thursday.

The college is increasing the number of high-demand classes in English, math and science that are required for transfer to a four-year university or to earn an associate degree. Those classes have typically had long waiting lists.

In all, 7,145 more seats will be available in fall classes than a year ago, the release said.

Fall 2014 marks the second consecutive year that the college has been able to increase the number of classes for students.

An insufficient number of classes and lengthy waiting lists were frustrating realities for OCC students until last fall, when the college began adding back sections that had been slashed from the schedule in the aftermath of state budget cuts.

New students can apply and view classes on the college’s website.
