A sedan driven by an 81-year-old Santa Ana woman sped through a Costa Mesa parking lot Wednesday afternoon and crashed into a pedestrian, pinning him against another car, police said.

About 1 p.m., witnesses watched from the lot in front of Mitsuwa Marketplace near Paularino Avenue and Bristol Street while the Toyota Camry allegedly hit multiple vehicles before it bounced off a truck and slammed into a deliveryman.

The victim, a 41-year-old from Palos Verdes, was pinned against a minivan, police said.

After firefighters and police freed his lower limbs, an ambulance took him to Western Medical Center in Santa Ana to treat major trauma to his left leg. He was in stable condition, police said.
